About

Hi, I’m Nancy Anne,

I am a nurse.   For more than twenty years I have worked in my local hospital — long hours and lots of overtime — helping members of my community.  I love my job!  I have loved my job so much that I gave everything I had.

Until there was nothing left to give.

I didn’t realize I was running on empty at first.  I was too busy trying to keep everything together.  I finally lost my temper at work, angrily shouting at a co-worker in front of everyone.  I did not recognize who I was anymore.

That rather loud moment was the start of The Quiet Rise.  What followed was a slow and imperfect journey back to myself.  I learned about burnout.  I learned what this does to your brain, your body — and most importantly — to your sense of self.  Through this journey of slowing down and journaling, I learned to listen to what I need and — most importantly — I learned to choose differently.

What started out as a journey back to myself has grown into a path for all who feel overwhelmed, numb, or lost.  This isn’t a place of quick fixes or perfect answers.  It is a space for reflection, education, and the quiet but radical act of honoring yourself.

You don’t have to heal perfectly.  You just have to begin.

Welcome, I’m glad you’re here.
